We use a hands-on approach using a variety of manual forms of physiotherapy.
We also incorporate the latest techniques to analyse and assess your needs - called Movement Solution Therapy.
This cutting-edge physiotherapy approach - using video analysis and movement profiling - is already being used by leading physiotherapists within the top football clubs and team GB athletes.
What to expect from my first appointment?
First you will complete a detailed medical questionnaire with our physiotherapist, please bring along any details of medication you are currently taking.
Consent will be given by you to proceed with the assessment.
We will talk through your treatment plan which could include deep tissue work, mobilisation, stretches, acupuncture and advice.
Treatment - we will get started with your treatment straight away.
Please wear loose and comfortable clothing for the appointment.
We can offer a range of screening services to help you get the most out of your training and prevent injury. These assessments can be tailored to one particular sport or body part so that it can enhance your performance, whether it’s walking the dog or playing league tennis, we can support you.
Particularly suitable for individuals who are pre-spinal surgery, are undergoing total hip replacements, as well as those with sports injuries.
Using video and still photography we can carry out an in depth analysis of specific muscle groups relevant to a particular area/joint of the body. We can also offer a more generalised, whole body analysis but this will not be as focused as specific body part analysis.
Our screening will give you an understanding of why your issues arise, we will give you a tailored program of movement, stretches and will include corrective measures if required (e.g. kinesiology tape). This is a solution focussed assessment.
Hip – looking at the interactions between the back and the hip, deep muscles, soft tissue (facia) movement patterns as well as static and dynamic muscle groups.
Shoulder – A complex quadrant made up of 5 parts, by looking at the connections and interactions between muscles we will get a good understanding of the weaknesses in your movement.
Neck – In our digital age we are seeing more and more people with neck problems. What happens with the neck governs so many areas; arm, shoulder, the mid spine. Get the neck functioning efficiently and you will see great results.
Back – We can’t promise to cure you with a course of adjustments and we can’t do all of the work for you. But we CAN show you where the issues are and look at your habits, explain the cycle of pain. We have several techniques in our tool kit, we will work WITH you to find a way that works for you to achieve the outcomes you want.
Everyone is unique and therefore one size will never fit all. After all assessments you will receive a summary of your analysis so that you can understand your challenges. You will also receive a personalised recommended measures program to address the issues that have been identified.
More and more people are turning to acupuncture for solutions to their health. Robust scientific research backs up what many people have known for years – acupuncture works.
Acupuncture treatment involves fine needles being inserted through the skin and briefly left in position. Sometimes manual or low voltage electrical stimulation is applied to assist the process. The number of needles varies but may be only two or three.
We will assess each patient's case and treatment will be tailored to the individual. Treatment might be once a week to begin with, then at longer intervals as the condition responds. A typical course of treatment lasts 5 to 8 sessions.
Acupuncture stimulates the nerves in skin and muscle, and can produce a variety of effects. We know that it increases the body's release of natural painkillers - endorphin and serotonin - in the pain pathways of both the spinal cord and the brain. This modifies the way pain signals are received.
Acupuncture returns the body to balance.
